I was once in a relationship like this. We adored and practically worshipped each other. The problem? I was far too immature to carry on a meaningful relationship. It was a long time ago and I haven’t really been with anyone like that since.

Serving a meal along with the check or tab is a pretty brilliant move for a diner-style restaurant. Those types of places tend to get pretty busy, and I’d imagine that the service staff would want to move patrons as quickly as possible. The problem is that they don’t want to pressure or offend diners, either. So what does a server do? He or she hands you your meal along with the check and says, “No rush, of course. Take your time. The check is here whenever you’re ready.”
